"FOR YOU"

Posted by Picasa Acrylic and Oil
What a wonderful afternoon of painting! This is for the monthly references from "Virtual Sketch Date". Someone mentioned using black as their ground and, altough I dont use black, I may try using this dark background color as a ground...

Fabulous! You got the light on the bowl and the softness of the petals beautifully. Lovely interpretation.

I like the change in color for the tabletop. Your light petals really pop and come forward against the dark background. Nicely done.

great painting :D Full of a lot of textures. I like the colour change of the tabletop too, the colour goes really well with the pale flowers.

As others have said, that complementary table top is very effective. I really like this!

Very nice.
Do you color the entire piece dark to begin with, then apply colors over the dark?

I really like your piece - lots of energy and texture. And the table top color adds a lot to the overall piece. Very pretty!

Nothing like coming in late! I've seen lots of versions of this photo, and your is one of my favorites. Love the dramatic background against the tender pink petals and reflections.
